Autumn Acoustics is a festival that was begun in 2001 by two dulcimer-playing friends, Shirley Bettis and Maxine Jinkerson. It has grown to a non-profit organization for the enjoyment and promotion of old-time acoustic music. The festival is held annually in October at Jefferson College, Hillsboro, Missouri (near St. Louis). Featured instruments are dulcimers (both hammered and mountain), guitar, fiddle, banjo, bass, harmonica, autoharp, mandolin, etc. Autumn Acoustics festival provides concerts, workshops, vendors, jam sessions, and a lot of good camaraderie in the Ozark hills.
